Shade netting that cuts heat without cutting the light
Shade netting, the right percentage for your crop
Shade netting controls sunlight and heat. It is rated by shade percentage: most vegetables do well around 30 to 50 percent, while livestock shade and privacy uses often call for higher ratings. We source it to your dimensions from vetted manufacturing partners.

When the span is wider than the roll
Netting is made to the width of the machine that knits it, not to the width of your block. When the span is wider, the joint has to be made somewhere. There are only two places it can happen, and a quote should tell you which one you are buying.
Catalogue width for this family: 1 – 12 m or custom. Anything wider than that is a joint, made in the field or made at the factory.
| Where the joint is made | What you receive | What it costs you |
|---|---|---|
| On site, by your crew | Strips at catalogue width, overlapped and fixed in the field. | Installation days, fixings, and one more line for the wind to work on at every joint. None of it appears in a price per square metre. |
| At the factory, before it ships | Panels assembled to the width you need to cover, delivered as one piece. | A stated line on the quote, plus its effect on packing, freight volume and the minimum quantity that makes the run worth setting up. |
What we will not write down before it is confirmed A maximum assembled width. Achievable width, added cost, added lead time and the minimum quantity are confirmed with the manufacturing partner and stated on your quote before you order. Where a span cannot be served in one piece, we say so and quote the strip layout instead.
What to send us The width you need to cover, not the roll width you think you should ask for. The quote form has a field for the span, and a second one for how you want that width made up.

Use it when
You need to cut sunlight and heat for crops, nurseries or livestock, controlled by shade percentage.
Do not use it when
You need insect exclusion or hail impact protection: shade cloth is not a pest or hail barrier.

Frequently asked questions
Which shade percentage should I choose?
The catalogue covers shade rates from 30% to 95%. The right rate depends on the crop and climate: leafy greens usually need moderate shading while nursery stock and shade-loving plants tolerate more. Tell us the crop and location in the quote request and we recommend a rate.
How long does shade netting last?
From the catalogue: around 2 to 3 years for non-UV treated material and around 4 to 5 years for UV treated HDPE, depending on sun exposure. If the net is a multi-season investment, UV treatment is usually worth specifying.
What is the minimum order quantity for shade netting?
Catalogue MOQ starts from 1,000 square metres. If your project is below that, say so in the request and we tell you directly whether a standard roll format can work.
What widths are available?
Standard widths run from 1 to 12 metres, with custom widths possible. Wider rolls mean fewer joins over large structures; our roll layout planner helps compare configurations before you ask for a quote.
Which colours are available and does colour matter?
Black, green, white, blue and dark green are standard, custom colours on request. Colour changes light quality and heat absorption under the net, so state the crop and goal (shading, privacy, windbreak) in your request.
